  • Karyotyping Activity
    This exercise is a simulation of human karyotyping using digital images of chromosomes from actual human genetic studies. You will be arranging chromosomes into a completed karyotype, and interpreting your findings just as if you were working in a genetic analysis program at a hospital or clinic.

  • Human Chromosome Ideograms - University of Washington Department of Pathology Created by David Adler, Ph.D., a complete set of human chromosome ideograms.  Can be used and altered for educational purposes.

  • Genetic Science Learning Center
    At the Eccles Institute of Human Genetics - University of Utah. An excellent educational site with resources for students, parents, families, and teachers.  Includes a comprehensive curriculum for many areas of genetics.

  • Glossary of Genetic Terms
    From the National Human Genome Research Institute. Includes spoken definitions.

  • PBS ‘Bloodlines: Technology Hits Home’
    Originally broadcast in June 2003, this program provides a close look into what happens when medical technology outpaces the law and human dramas set the precedent for an uncertain future. Includes an overview of the program, discussion guide and a listing of related links and resources.
